Check-in Time For Domestic flights: Check-in usually starts 120 minutes before departure and the Check-in counters will be closed 45 minutes before departure time for all classes of guests.
Please note that check-in counter for Domestic flights operating from International Terminal, will close 60 minutes before departure time for all classes.
All Air India flights in the flight range AI010-399 and AI9000-9999 will depart from international terminal.

Certain formalities are required to be completed by the guest at the airport before and after being accepted by the airline for travel. To complete these formalities and the check-in process, guests are required to arrive at the airport sufficiently before the departure time of the flight.

General:
Transit area is located at the mezzanine floor of the Terminal Building. Passengers from Mumbai on completion of departure formalities are required to proceed to transit area for boarding the aircraft. International passengers through checked-in from Indian domestic points to international points and vice versa en-route Mumbai are connected directly through transit.
Transit Lounge:
First and Business class passengers transiting through Mumbai Airport can avail the exclusive facilities provided in the Maharajah Lounge located at the mezzanine floor.
Transfer Desk:
A full fledged Air India Transfer Desk operates from Terminal 2C mezzanine floor on 24 x 7 basis to facilitate passengers transiting through Mumbai Airport.

Free allowance for tourists of Indian origin is normally Rs. 25,000/- per passenger including Alcoholic Liquor or wine of 2 litres and 200 Nos. cigarettes. However, this free allowance is lower ?(i.e.Rs. 6000/- ) for passengers arriving from neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh and China and for children less than 10 years.
One laptop computer imported as baggage into India by a passenger of the age of 18 years or above is exempted from customs duty.
All tourists can import used personal effects eg. Laptop, palmtop, reasonable jewellery free of duty if they are to re-export these items at the time of leaving the country. Tourists of foreign origin can also import duty free gifts and souvenirs worth Rs. 8000/- per person.
