Priority Service

Priority Service, available for our economy class passengers, allows them to enjoy priority check-in and baggage handling to make their journey more comfortable. This service helps passengers save check-in and baggage collection time upon arrival, at nominal additional charges.

The paid priority service is available to passengers booked in Value, Classic, and Flex Fare brands in economy only

Passengers purchasing this service will receive a “Priority Handling” confirmation email upon booking. With the confirmation email the passengers will be able to check in through the premium economy counters. Their baggage will be tagged as priority and will be available for collection on priority along with those of premium economy passengers.

This facility is available for purchase on Air India website, app, airport ticketing office, and by contacting our customer support.

Priority service is available only for domestic travel and can be availed for flights departing from the following stations:

  • Delhi
  • Mumbai
  • Hyderabad
  • Chennai
  • Bengaluru
  • Kolkata.

This service is available for travel within India only.

Passengers can opt for the service at INR 499 by booking it up to 6 hours prior to their flight’s departure. For services booked within 6 hours prior to their flight’s departure the charges will be INR 699. Please note that the services can only be purchased until 75 minutes prior to the flight's departure. Priority service must be purchased for all passengers travelling under a single Booking Reference Number (PNR). The prices for priority service will be applicable per person.

This service is complimentary for Air India Platinum and Gold members irrespective of class of booking or fare type.        

Terms and Conditions:

  • Priority service passengers must proceed to the ‘Premium Economy’ counters to check-in.
  • Priority service passengers must carry the “Priority Handling” confirmation email with them to avail the service at the airport.
  • The priority baggage handling service will be on a best effort basis and is not guaranteed.
  • Passengers can book the service up to 75 minutes before their flight’s departure.
  • The service is available for travel within India only.
  • This service is valid only at select airports.
  • The Priority service fee is inclusive of all taxes.
  • Priority service is applicable for passengers with confirmed tickets. It is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Priority service must be purchased for all passengers travelling under a single Booking Reference Number (PNR) and cannot be purchased for only one or few of the passengers traveling under a single PNR. The prices for priority service will be applicable per person.
  • No modification to the Priority service will be allowed after booking.
  • Air India reserves the right to withdraw/ revise the Priority service without prior notice.
  • Flight schedules and timings are subject to regulatory approvals and may be revised without advance notice.
  • Components of the tariff may undergo a change at any time without prior notice.
  • Air India Priority service cannot be cancelled once it has been booked. It is refundable only in the event of the entire flight booking being cancelled by the passenger (48 hours prior to departure) or the scheduled flight being cancelled by Air India.
  • Air India is the sole authority for interpretation of these terms. Air India reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/ alter/ modify/ change or vary all of these terms and conditions.
  • Air India shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to force majeure event or for reasons beyond the reasonable control of Air India.
  • In the event of any misuse or abuse of priority service, Air India reserves the right to reject any claim, deny the offer or cancel the booking.
  • Disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with this offer shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi.

You can go to the airport ticketing office to purchase the service and then proceed to premium economy counters for check-in.

If you cancel your entire booking 48 hours prior to departure then you are eligible for a refund of the priority service. If you wish to cancel only the priority service, then it is non-refundable.  

Priority service must be purchased for all passengers travelling under a single Booking Reference Number (PNR) and cannot be purchased for only one or few of the passengers traveling under a single Booking Reference Number (PNR). The prices for priority service will be applicable per person.

Infants are exempt. However, you will have to purchase priority service for children if you wish to avail yourself of the service.

You will be unable to receive a refund for your priority service if you miss your flight as this service is non-refundable. 

Yes, you can opt for this service if you are already web checked in. You can purchase the service on our website, app, by contacting our customer support, or going to our ticketing counter to opt for this service.

Once you have purchased the priority service, you can directly go to our premium economy counters for check-in.
