At Air India, we are committed to making your journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Our new Fly Prior service is designed to save your time and enhance your comfort, convenience, and overall travel experience.

Fly Prior service is for customers who wish to prepone their flight. This service is only available for purchase at the airport. Customers can opt for an earlier flight within 12 hours prior their originally booked flight provided it is on the same date, same route and same cabin which they had originally booked, only if there is a seat available on the requested, earlier flight. This is a limited-inventory service available on a first-come-first-served basis. 

Fly Prior is available only for travel within India.

This service is applicable for customers holding a confirmed ticket on Air India and wish to take any earlier Air India flight for the same date which they had originally booked. 

For flights between airports in Zone 1, the Fly Prior service can be availed at INR 2,199/- (Inclusive of applicable taxes). For flights to and from airports in Zone 2, this service will be available to customers at INR 1,499/- (Inclusive of applicable taxes). 

The above charges are applicable for all cabin classes.

Please note, this fee is waived off for Air India Maharaja Club Gold and Platinum members. This service is not applicable for Unaccompanied Minors and Group bookings.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The Fly Prior service can only be availed at the airport from which the flight is scheduled to depart, with the customer’s presence being mandatory.
  • To use the Fly Prior service, Customers can approach the Airport Ticketing office or Check-in counter and request for an earlier flight.
  • The charges paid for the Fly Prior Service are non-refundable. However, flight schedules and timings are subject to regulatory approvals and may be revised without advance notice, therefore, the charges paid for the Fly Prior Service shall only be refunded in case Air India unanimously cancels the flight. 
  • The Fly Early service is chargeable on per sector per flight, per customer basis and will be applicable for each cabin class, respectively.
  • Cabin change is not permitted under this service. 
  • Under the Fly Prior service, customers are not allowed to re-route/ change the route of their already booked flight. They can only change their flight for the previously booked sector.
  • Date change is not permitted under the Fly Prior service. The customers can only choose an earlier flight for the same calender date originally booked by them. 
  • The Fly Prior service is not applicable for Group & Unaccompanied Minor bookings. 
  • The Fly Prior service is complimentary for Maharaja Club Gold and Platinum members provided the change of the flight is in the same cabin class.
  • The Fly Prior service is applicable for travel within India only.
  • The Fly Prior service is a limited-inventory service available on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Air India solely reserves the right to change the charges of the Fly Prior Service without any prior notice.
  • For any other ancillary service opted by the customer for their original flight, following is the list of transferrable and non-transferrable services, respectively to the earlier flight under the Fly Prior Service. Non-transferrable ancillary services, if already opted for, shall not be refunded.
    • Transferrable services – Priority service, Excess baggage, Upgrades
    • Non- Transferrable services – Preferred seat selection, Special meals and Lounges (Lounge service shall be transferrable only if time permits). 
  • Air India is the sole authority for interpretation of these terms and conditions. Air India reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/ alter/ modify/ change or vary these terms and conditions or to replace wholly or in part, the above Fly Prior service by another service, whether similar to above service or not, or to withdraw it altogether.
  • Air India shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to force majeure event or for reasons beyond the reasonable control of Air India.
  • In the event of any misuse or abuse of Fly Prior service, Air India reserves the right to reject any claim, deny the offer or cancel the booking.
  • These terms and conditions are in addition to and not in derogation to the terms and conditions as specified on Air India’s website www.airindia.com, which terms and conditions shall also be applicable to this Fly Prior Service.
  • The present Fly Prior Service shall be governed by the laws of India. Disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with this Fly Prior Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi.

No, cabin change is not permitted under this scheme.

Currently we do not offer any discount on this service, it is chargeable for all our customers.

This fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.

No, it is mandatory that the customer should be present at the airport check-in counter or ticketing counter to avail this service.

Seat selection charges are applicable only for the originally booked flight and cannot be transferred to another flight, hence it is non refundable incase you opt for the Fly Prior service.

Yes, all services except seat selection, special meals and Lounge [if due time constrain] will be reaccommodated to your new flight. 

If you are traveling between Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai & Pune the charges are INR 2199 all-in, for all other destination within India, charges are INR 1499 all-in.

No, you can approach any check-in counter as per booked cabin or our airport ticketing office to avail this service.

Special meal request is only catered for the originally booked flight, hence it wont be possible to transfer the meal request if you opt for the Fly Prior service.

Yes, Infants are included in the Fly Prior fee of the guardian. No separate charge for Fly Prior service to infants.
