You may proceed to the airport check-in counter and request an upgrade (as per booked cabin class) subject to seat availability.
Please show the airport executive an active voucher in your member account on your Air India app or website.
After confirmation of seat availability, validate the voucher using the OTP received on your registered mobile number and e-mail.
Once OTP is verified, the check-in executive will hand over the boarding pass for the upgraded Cabin Class.
When you utilize an upgrade voucher, members get priority check-in and priority boarding. Additionally, you also get excess baggage allowance corresponding to the upgraded class.
Yes, you can, but only when travelling together on the same booking reference number. Each member will need an independent voucher, which must be verified using an OTP.
The validity of upgrade vouchers is limited and not extendable. The upgrade voucher is valid for six months from the date of issuance for Silver Tier, nine months from the date of issuance for Gold Tier, and 12 months from the date of issuance for Platinum members.
- An upgrade request at the airport is subject to seat availability and confirmation of other terms and conditions, including Maharaja Club membership details.
- The voucher can only be used for travel on or before the voucher expiry date.
- To redeem a voucher, you need to have a confirmed ticket.
- Upgrade vouchers are only valid for domestic travel on Air India flights.
- In case of a combination of domestic and international flights, the voucher can only be used for the domestic flights and must be applied at the check-in counter at the domestic airport.
- An upgrade voucher is valid for a single-use upgrade to the immediate higher cabin class. This means members can upgrade from a. Economy to Premium Economy
b. Economy to Business (in case no Premium Economy cabins are available)
c. Premium Economy to Business
d. Business to First - To upgrade beyond the immediate higher cabin class, you can use an equivalent number of vouchers. For example, you can upgrade from Economy to Business (in case Premium Economy cabin class is available) by using two vouchers.
- Upgrade vouchers are non-transferable. They can be used for self, friends and family travelling on the same booking reference number. However, each voucher is only valid for one user. Hence, if a member wants to upgrade themselves and another passenger, two vouchers need to be used. Both vouchers will have to be OTP verified.
- This voucher is not valid for infants or for passengers travelling with infants.
- Points on the Maharaja Club programme will be earned as per the original booking class.
- Upgrade vouchers cannot be sold, bartered, redeemed, or exchanged for cash.
- Once used by the member, upgrade voucher(s) cannot be re-instated in case the member requests any changes, cancellations, or re-issuance of the ticket.
- The member is responsible for any taxes, surcharges, and fees (if applicable) on upgrades using upgrade vouchers.
- After the upgrade, you are entitled to all the benefits of the upgraded class.
- All other Maharaja Club terms and conditions apply.
Complimentary Ticket vouchers provided on cobranded credit cards are credited to the primary cardholders (“Cardholders”) are entitled to receive one-way base fare waived ticket vouchers (“Voucher”) provided they meet the criteria as defined in the Credit Card features and benefits as specified on respective bank websites (“Offer”).
- The Complimentary Ticket Voucher entitles the Cardholder to receive a waiver of the base fare component on one-way ticket for travel on Air India domestic network (each Voucher is usable for a single flight number journey between two points).
- The Cardholder will have to bear the other charges such as taxes, surcharges and other levies as applicable on the ticket at the time of booking.
- The Complimentary Ticket Voucher is voluntarily transferable to family and friends if member is ‘Active’ meaning member has fulfilled the below criteria:
a. Completed fifteen (15) days as a Maharaja Club member.
b. Flown at least two (2) Air India flights in different Booking reference numbers (PNRs) and is added to their account. These bookings must be revenue based (non-redemption). - Complimentary Ticket Vouchers cannot be exchanged, sold, bartered or refunded for cash.
- All bookings made through Complimentary Ticket Vouchers that are made or purchased through fraudulent means are void, will be cancelled by Air India and the customer will be denied boarding. Air India may at its sole discretion take appropriate action in this regard.
- The Complimentary Ticket Voucher credited to the Cardholder is valid only for travel for a fixed validity (3/6/9 months) from the date of issuance and will not be extended.
- The Complimentary Ticket Voucher eligibility notification will be sent via e-mail to the registered e-mail address of the Cardholder as recorded in their Maharaja Club Account within a period of 15 working days of fulfilment of the criteria as defined in the Card Features and Benefits.
- Once the Complimentary Ticket Voucher gets credited, the Cardholder will be notified on the registered e-mail address as recorded in their Maharaja Club account.
- Air India or the bank will not be responsible in case the email address provided is incorrect or if the mail is not delivered to the Cardholder, due to any reason whatsoever.
- The Cardholder must validate their Maharaja Club Account details and Voucher particulars with the customer care representative to proceed with any booking.
- The Complimentary Ticket can be used only once and will become unusable upon utilization.
- The Complimentary Ticket Voucher can be used subject to availability of seats in select booking fare classes allocated. AI or the bank does not guarantee availability of seats.
- Once booked and ticketed under a particular Cardholders name, the ticket is non – transferable.
- Changes to any ticket booking is not allowed (as an exception we can charge respective change fees basis cabin and seat availability) by payment of applicable change fee.
- In case of any cancellations or no-shows, the Voucher will be deemed utilized and, in such cases, only the statutory taxes will be refunded. A refund of statutory taxes will be processed within 7 working days from the date of cancellation or no-show.
- Members (or the pax traveling) are required to present the e-ticket issued by Air India along with the proof of payment for the Complimentary Ticket bookings to be able to complete the check-in process.
- Members (or pax traveling) will be required to present government-issued identification in line with Air India's condition of carriage. Failure to produce will result in cancellation of the booking.
- The decision of Air India with respect to the Complimentary Ticket Voucher will be final and binding on all the Cardholders participating in this Voucher.
- Air India and respective bank reserves the rights to change, amend, withdraw and/or alter any of the terms and conditions of this Voucher at any time without prior notice.
- The Complimentary Ticket Voucher cannot be combined with any other promotional Offer from Air India Limited. Voucher ticket bookings cannot be upgraded further with points or upgrade vouchers.
- These terms and conditions are in addition to and not in derogation to the terms and conditions applicable to Maharaja Club members, specified on our website www.airindia.com, terms and conditions of which shall also be applicable to this Offer.
