Rail and Fly
The process of booking a Rail & Fly ticket is similar to that of a flight booking.
All German rail stations that are serviced by Deutsche Bahn are available at a single price using the code QYG. On the Air India website or mobile app, enter QYG as the origin/destination, select the corresponding destination/origin, see details of available flights and trains, and then go on to complete the booking.
Please note that booking a standalone train ticket is not possible.
You need to complete your web check-in 72 hours before departure on https://www.rail-checkin.com.
You can follow the below steps to check in:
Enter your name exactly as it appears on your flight ticket. Be sure to include your first and last names, including any spaces. Both lowercase and uppercase letters are acceptable. Add any titles like JR, SR, DR, or PROF after your first name, but do not include MR, MS, or MRS.
Next, enter either your e-ticket number or Booking Reference number and proceed with check-in.
If you require any additional information, please visit the Deutsche Bahn website.
Check-in opens immediately after your booking is confirmed. However, it cannot be done more than 180 days in advance. Further limitations due to Deutsche Bahn schedule periods can apply.
You will need to complete web check-in 72 hours before departure.

Please note that you may not be able to select trains that already have an exceptionally high demand.
No, this will not be possible. You can check-in only for your flight journey on the Air India website or mobile app. You need to check in for your train journey 72 hours before departure on https://www.rail-checkin.com.
For your Air India-operated flight, you will be able to select seats and any other additional services during booking or before your travel on the Air India website and mobile app.
For your train journey, additional services like seat selection will only be available on the Deutsche Bahn website or DB navigator app. If you require any additional information, please visit the Deutsche Bahn website.
You can now access all Deutsche Bahn-serviced stations within Germany using the QYG code.
Changes or cancellations of only your train ticket are not permitted. To make changes or cancel the Rail& Fly ticket, you can go to Manage Booking and update your booking.
Penalty charges and any difference in fare will apply.
The baggage allowance applicable on your Air India flight will be the same for your train as well.
However, please note that you are responsible for the carriage of your bags both onto and off the train.
Through check-in is only possible for the flight journey of Rail & Fly ticket.
Standalone cancellations of only your train ticket are not permitted. To make changes or cancel, you need to make changes to your Rail&Fly ticket, go to Manage Booking, and update your booking.
You cannot share your ticket with family or friends. A ticket is only valid for the person whose name is on it.
Keep your train ticket, official ID, and flight ticket on hand to show the train attendant during ticket inspection. Ensure that you retain the train ticket until the end of your journey.
Most train stations have a lost and found office. If you lose or misplace your luggage on the train, it is recommended that you contact Deutsche Bahn customer support.
Infants under the age of 2 years do not require a train ticket and hence, do not need to be checked in.
